New identity system with playful logo, developed by FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek for long-time collaborator Jan von Holleben and his latest adventure: Kids Love Photography – a new imprint focusing on lovely photography books for children. The new project page showcases the new logo, variants and coulourways, social media assets including logo animations.

For a seventh time, FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek contributed an annual typographic interpretation to this calendar and design compendium by the Italian paper company Fedrigoni. See Tomi's latest Fedrigoni 366 (2024) more abstract design here, and all the previous contributions can be found via this link.
___ The special 2024 Generative Uniqueness-themed incarnation of this beautiful publication features a new design by Tomi, who was briefed to freely interpret and create an experimental visual for the number 16, with his allocated calendar date being 16 August.
___ This top-quality collaborative project has already raised over £30,000 for selected charities.

FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek is back in Lille to run another of his popular masterclass workshops Personal Projects and the Power of Three. The evolving and inspireational workshop was developed by Tomi to encourage experimentation, appreciation of process but also to help students to embrace failure and provoke ‘happy accidents’. The workshop aims to help students find a voice and add more personality and emotion to their work as graphic designers and visual communicators.

Design Teaching | After over seven years of collaboration with ECV France as an external educator, speaker, and designer in residence, Tomi Vollauschek from FL@33 is honoured to be appointed as a visiting lecturer [intervenant] at ECV Lille – École de Création Visuelle. In this role, he will teach a remote Visual Identity course.
___ During his time at ECV France (Lille, Bordeaux and Aix-en-Provence), Tomi has led masterclass workshops, delivered talks, and participated in diploma graduation jury duties. His new position will enable him to continue inspiring students in the field of visual communication.   [EDU+]

FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek is in Aix-en-Provence this week to run his evolving masterclass workshop Personal Projects and the Power of Three. It was developed to encourage experimentation, appreciation of process but also to help students to embrace failure and provoke ‘happy accidents’. The workshop aims to help students find a voice and add more personality and emotion to their work as graphic designers and visual communicators.
___ This exceptionally only 4-day-long experience encourages students to develop a sense of authorship and create – and most importantly continue to create – their own self-initiated projects, even after their graduation and into their professional lives.

Organised by senior lecturer, course leader and FL@33-collaborator Kimberly Ellen Hall, this friendly gang of University of Gloucestershire (UoG) Illustration BA students came to visit our London HQ and listened to a little whirlwind studio history-so-far presentation by FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek. There was another raffle of course to win FL@33 goodies and lots and lots of books, magazines, postcards and Stereohype button badges to look at and choose from.   [EDU+]

Vive la Nouvelle Vague! Film posters, visual identity and social media campaign by FL@33 for the French short film 1961 featuring the new logo FL@33 also developed the cinematic homage to Jean-Luc Godard and the French New Wave.
___ The short film was entered to the 62nd edition of the 'International Critics' Week' (Semaine de la Critique – Cannes), the oldest parallel non-competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival. 1961 was also submitted to the Short Film Corner, a program at the Cannes Film Festival dedicated to promoting and showcasing short films.
 

March 28th, 2023

Produced in 2023 the short film 1961 pays homage to the late Jean-Luc Godard (1930-2022) and his cinematic tour de force. This bold minimal logo was developed by FL@33 for 1961 and its film title. Photographic logo variants take centre stage in the film's poster and social media campaign.

Tomi Vollauschek hopped on a train from London to Cambridge today to give a talk with Q&A as part of the Type Talk series at Cambridge College of Art / A.R.U. Anglia Ruskin University.

FL@33 work for Equity – The Board Game. It all started with the playfully geometric logo we developed for educational board game Equity. The logotype is a carefully considered modular tool box and first glimpse into what will be the starting point for a flexible identity system. The game's prototypes are currently already in advanced test-playing and fine-tuning stages. More info on our new project page.

Update for Tomi's recent design residency at ECV Lille – Creative Schools & Community, France.

Without further ado we finally posted a second documentation this week – rather image-heavy with work by 24 design students: it's the recent inspirational five-day-masterclass-workshop FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek ran at ECV Lille.

We finally posted a documentation today of the one night only exhibition that took place a couple of months ago to launch the Love-themed publication Fedrigoni 365 (2023). The calendar and design compendium once again includes a contribution by FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek. The event was a private view that took place in London's Hoxton Arches. You can see the 2018–2023 FL@33 designs for Fedrigoni here.

Save the date! We had so much fun last summer that we do it again – we will be out there in the wild once more... Please come and visit our Stereohype / FL@33 stand at the Illustrators' Winter Fair on Saturday, 10 December 2022, where we will offer all our 1777 beautiful button badges and bring a few optional gift boxes along. Over 100 illustrators and artists will again be part of this beautiful (and free) event in London. 11am–5pm. It's indoors in the stunning ‘Crossing’ entrance hall to the Granary building on Granary Square, King's Cross, N1C. See our previous stands here. A documentation will be posted here.

We are playing catch-up after the pandemic chaos and skipping two years of Fedrigoni 365 exhibitions. Later this evening will be the second launch exhibition this year – this time for next year's Love-themed Fedrigoni 365 – calendar 2023 and design compendium. As in all previous years this edition also includes a contribution by FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek. It's a private view event but we will as always post pictures at flat33.com after the exhibition here in London.

FL@33's annual design initiative B.I.O. (By Invitation Only) Button Badge Series just went into its 22nd round and was released by the studio's graphic art label Stereohype. New button badges, artist sets of four and seven in elegant matchbox-style gift boxes were launched. Many of these new designs were also released as Fine Art Prints for the now 500-strong Button Badge Motif Print edition.
___ The FL@33-curated series additions feature Alex Camacho, Atelier Works, Laurie Rosenwald, Marc Atkins, Rob Sanders and Stupendous.
___ B.I.O. Series 22 features 24 new 1"/25mm button badges including FL@33's seven All You Need... badges. Now available at stereohype.com as part of their growing and already 1777-strong button badge collection by 600+ hand-picked talents from around the world. Please also check out the other annual FL@33 initiative – Stereohype's 18th annual Button Badge Design Competition – winners have just been released, too.

FThe winners and shortlist of Stereohype's 17th annual Button Badge Design Competition (STBBDC) were just released. FL@33 has once again been part of the over 25-strong judging panel. Huge interest in the design competition run by FL@33's graphic art label and sister-company Stereohype resulted in 458 accepted submissions this year. Congratulations to all involved! The call for entries 2023 is due to be launched in spring. See the stats, winners and runners-up at stereohype.com.

All You Need... is our latest contribution to Stereohype's FL@33-curated B.I.O. (By Invitation Only) Button Badge Series 22 that added 24 designs by hand-picked talents to the now 1777-strong collection. FL@33 also contributes to these releases every year.
