FL@33 is a multi-disciplinary visual communications studio based in Notting Hill, London, founded in 2001 by Agathe Jacquillat (France) and Tomi Vollauschek (Austria). Agathe and Tomi took their inspiration from the ten secret plates of the well-known yet obsolete diagnostic test invented by the psychologist Hermann Rorschach to create a piece that plays with the concepts of folding and symmetry.
___ Four images are composed through reflection, mirror images formed from inverted duplication. Right is left, left is right. Four images and three concepts: the symmetry in organic forms, their transference onto a manmade concrete wall and a final mirror that causes us to reflect on the artistic slant of each individual. A finale that was also transferred onto the cover of our printed version.

The mirror, theme of our third one-off issue.
The mirror reflects. A characteristic of almost magical connotations that the individual has stacked with significance since mythological times. The mirror as an object, one that provides a faithful representation - albeit back-to-front - of whatever is placed before. Hence associated, in psychology, to the search for and reaffirmation of identity. Art too, which has also used it as an aesthetic resource, as film and literature have done. An object, moreover, that is a material of surprising properties and is therefore being revaluated by contemporary designers.
___ These are some of the mirror's attributes that the printed version of our second issue reviewed. An issue with eleven content pieces of which we have selected two for our digital version. In the first, Ana Laura Aláez, a multidisciplinary artist, plays with breaking beauty's mould in a photo series for The Creator Studio. In the second, FL@33, a London visual communications studio, departs from the Rorschach ink blot psych test to develop symmetrical images charged with poetry.
