stereohype/habitat collaboration | FL@33 concept and packaging
product development for autumn/winter 2011/12 season

FL@33 and it's sister company Stereohype.com – graphic art and fashion boutique – have partnered up with Habitat in 2010 to develop and manufacture a series of themed button badge sets of four. Since launching
our 2010 sets FL@33/Stereohype is regularly compiling and presenting series of themed button badge sets using individual badge designs from our growing collection of button badges created for Stereohype by emerging and established artists and designers from around the world since 2004. The entire collection already includes over 630 button badge designs. A packaging was developed in close collaboration with Habitat and after all required lab-tests etc were finalised five badge sets were produced as a first test-run in 2010. FL@33 improved the packaging in 2011 for a second – much larger order. For a second time in Stereohype's history badges were not produced in the United Kingdom but in China – as quantities were simply too high for our usual manufacturing processes. Shown above are pictures of the final badge sets but also a few packaging details and samples. Once again we were in a position to offer royalties to the selected designers – a real pleasure as this was something we always had in mind but knew it would only become possible when truly large quantities of one particular design would be sold. The high-quality badge sets hit Habitat stores in September/October 2011 across France, Germany, Spain and also the three London flagship stores of Habitat UK – now part of Home Retail Group.

Additional sets are currently in the process of being developed.

The button badge sets Habitat selected in 2011 were created by the following talents: Words (produced for a second time) —Sarah Boris, Richard Kirk, FL@33, David Foldvari. Dogs — by Gergö Gilicze, Musa, Judith Egger and Megumu Kasuga. Button badge buttons (x4) — Rieme Gleijm. Youth — Andrew Townsend, United States Of The Arts (USotA), Julian Morey and Reala. Characters 2 — Jon Burgerman, Geneviève Gauckler, Rinzen and Antoine + Manuel.
