friends of the
earth | 'stop biofuel targets' campaign 2008
April 2008
Friends of the Earth (FoE) approached us
this time to illustrate an idea they had in mind of an aesthetic visual
with a twist. Things are not what they seem. At first sight the hose
pump and its biofuel is the source of a cheerful psychedelic, flower-power-style,
explosion of flowers while on closer inspection the flowers reveal
details of monkey skulls, traffic jams and deforestation – representing
some of the negative aspects of excessive biofuel production.
The flowers themselves (without stems and fuel pump) are also used
by FoE as decorative elements for communication materials such as
brochure covers, etc.
