We were commissioned in spring 2005 by zoto prod, paris, to create motion graphics for the l'arte di sacla travelling exhibition, which is part of the french sacla pr campaign by ad agency resonnances. The exhibition was launched in paris and will tour france and germany until the end of 2006.
Our animation is based on the discovery that all 30 or so individual sacla products we were given make a different sound while opening the covers of the glass jars. The different 'plops' and 'plips' were recorded separately and created our new musical scale to compose with. Literally a 'cut 'n' paste' remix of sacla's ingredients... The final dvd contains a 3-minutes-loop designed to maintain enough variety to surprise the viewers who start watching the piece at random points. The video is presented in a dark gallery space. Six selected photographers, illustrators, painters, sculptors and graphic designers are presenting their interpretation of the brand, their products and their ingredients. The brief was particularly free to allow as much artistic freedom as possible.

After a series of private views the exhibition is open to the public from: 9–12 june 2005, 11am–6pm.

De l’art culinaire à l’art … Saclà franchit le pas avec l’exposition L’Arte di Saclà. Saclà a convié six artistes contemporains de renom (Valentina Cameranesi, Amélie Dillemann, Tan Kadam, Max Lowry, FL@33 et Anne Veaute) à chercher l’inspiration sur ses produits et la manière dont ils sont conçus … ou bien emballés !! Les artistes choisis proviennent d’univers artistiques divers : peintres, photographes, plasticiens, designers, vidéastes … Il leur a été demandé de s’inspirer des produits Saclà pour réaliser des œuvres très personnelles. Celles-ci font le lien entre l’art, la culture et les sauces et antipasti Saclà. L’inventivité culinaire propre à Saclà est transposée dans le domaine du ludique et de l’artistique. Ainsi, la représentation de l’aliment ou de son contenant revêt ici un « goût » unique ... Les habitudes alimentaires et gustatives sont élevées au rang d’œuvre d’art qu ’elles soient photographiques, picturales ou architecturales … Le résultat est étonnant... Il y en a pour tous les goûts. Alors laissez-vous guider par vos yeux … et vos papilles ! (...)
