An ongoing Arts Affaires-commissioned exhibion opportunity allowed us to update our ongoing 8min 20sec FL@33 project with new and remastered 1080p full HD 8min 20sec video composition andnew super-high-resolution sequence prints. These new artworks by FL@33's Tomi Vollauschek are now exhibited in Paris. Update: the installation was launched just days before the first European lockdowns. The usually busy office spaces are more or less abandonded now but the exhibition will run for at least a year. Strange times... The show must go on.

The new 8min 20sec (Cars #2) print will also be on display in FL@33's forthcoming exhibition in Paris.

RIP Vaughan Oliver (1957–2019)

'Such devastating news today. Vaughan Oliver has died. He was a larger than life person, my design hero, an immense inspiration for me and a whole generation of graphic designers. Vaughan was a gentle, humble and generous man I had the pleasure to meet a few times over the years. We even hugged once.
___ I had the honour to feature his beautiful work in some of my design studio’s books and he collaborated with my graphic art label by contributing button badge designs and a commissioned poster.
___ Vaughan’s work is one of the reason’s why I fell in love with many of my now favourite bands, why I became a graphic designer and why I eventually moved to the UK where I subsequently met my wife and mother of my children. My thoughts are with his family now.
___ My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. I very briefly met his son Callum, his wife Lee a few times and I saw a video recording of the birth of his son Beckett during a Vaughan Oliver lecture many moons ago in the 90s. I am deeply shocked about Vaughan’s passing. He left us far too early. One of a kind. One of the very greats. He didn’t want to accept his first royalties for his Down To Ten Men poster and asked me to buy something nice for my newborn daughter at the time. What a lovely Mensch. I am truly heart-broken. Shine on! #rip 🖤'

___ It's indoors again this year – inside the entrance area of the Granary Building, The Crossing, Central Saint Martins next to House of Illustration, King's Cross, London, 2 Granary Square, N1C 4BH.
___ We will post a documentation here afterwards. See our two stands from 2018 here and here. We offer smiles and direct eye contact for all. Follow the squirrel and the silver helium balloons (and ask for a free copy of our book Stereohype 2004–2014). The documentation will be posted here.

Looking back at 2019 this Fleabag chair picture from September created a bit of a highlight a few months ago – so we finally decided to post it here at flat33.com, too.
___ FL@33's Agathe Jacquillat took this photo minutes before Phoebe Waller-Bridge appeared on stage to perform her award-winning one-woman play Fleabag in London's West End. We posted it on Instagram that night and received an email within hours from her personal assistant to let us know that Phoebe Waller-Bridge found the theatrical atmosphere Agathe captured 'AMAZING'.
___ And we were still over the moon from just seeing the brilliant play... Prints are now available on demand.

NooooooooOOOOOO – All the Likes we collected via our AddThis website plugin were unfortunately deleted when we added a secure SSL certificate to flat33.com this month. While we are now able to show off our hopefully at least somewhat reassuring 'closed padlock' symbol in our browser window – our share counts do seem to be lost for good. Thanks for sharing some FL@33 love – so we get our Likes back!
