The book 'Made & Sold: Toys, T-shirts, Prints and Other Stuff' is the second major publication conceived, compiled, written and designed by Agathe Jacquillat and Tomi Vollauschek at FL@33.
Made & Sold showcases an exciting selection of products created by a new generation of multi-disciplinary practitioners who split their time between self-initiated and commission or client-based projects. These passionate, young and independent design studios, freelancers and commercial artists are in many respects their own clients and design, produce, manufacture and directly sell – often online – to a potentially global customer base.
Features over 1000 pictures of over 500 products by over 90 practitioners from around the world, with emerging talents sitting alongside established artists.
Separate sections are devoted to 'Books, Magazines and Zines', 'Toys', 'Posters, Prints and Canvases', 'Fonts and Typographic 3D Products', 'Clothing', 'Accessories', ' Miscellaneous' and contributor profiles. See sample spreads here.
In addition to designing books FL@33 also conceived, compiled, wrote and designed books in collaboration with Laurence King Publishing. The first book was Postcard (2008, Available editions: English: Laurence King Publishing, German: DuMont, French: Pyramyd and Spanish: Gustavo Gili), followed by Made & Sold (2009) and more recently The 3D Type Book (2011).
We also launched madeandsold.com – a dedicated website – featuring details and additional info on this book such as the complete list of contributors, more previews of the original English language edition and links to selected stockists.
